Pig vs. Bear

I made the bear cake for Ethan & Amelia's first birthday and their was some debate on Binns Blvd. as to wether it was a pig or a bear,(Ok it was just Ben) so I made a pig cake for Ben's birthday so he'd know the difference!!!

Ethan & Amelia turn ONE!!!

The big Bad birthday boy with Momma & Daddy. I actually think this may be the ONLY picture thus far with the three of us.... OK that's kinda bad!

Amelia enjoys a little choclate cake and is showing just how much she likes it... she was careful to get as much as she could in her mouth and very little on herself... Ethan however was not quite as careful, but enjoyed it just as much!

If these two ever do get married here's the first picture in their wedding album....

Just how cute are they... cuddling on a pile of teddy bears!!!

And here is a picture of all the kids... minus Alex's head (He did NOT want to be in the picture)

A reflective moment

It's the night before the big #1 birthday for Ethan. Everything has been cleaned up, clothes are laid out, the cake is baked & decorated, foods ready, and yet I still feel like I need to do one more thing.... like freeze time. How is it that out little baby boy is a year old already! It's UN-real. I wasn't too sad about Alex turning one, I figured I'd have more.... and with Leah's first birthday, we already had a "bun in the oven" so even though no-one else knew, Theo & I knew we'd be having another baby soon. So I wasn't weepy over her first birthday either. But this one, is really getting to me. Our LAST 1st birthday.... no more brand new baby smell, or little quiet cuddly moment holding a new born... Ethan is already running to keep up with the big kids. From here on out its motion and noise and time on fast forward. Before you know it all my babies will be all grown up and gone.... (I actually have tears in my eyes right now) I just want to scream STOP!!! slow this down!!! AM I crazy or hormonal or what... or does every Mom feel like this at one time or another.... ugh!!! I hope I can keep it together tomorrow..... but if not atleast I'll have chocolate cake to drown my sorrows in.... stay tuned for details of the big day!

The infamous Sweater.....

Well I don't know if it's famous, but I'm trying to start a family tradition for this sweater. Atleast for the boys, I figure they have to start somehow.... I found this outfit in a box of stuff Justin's mom had been saving for him, and I just hapened to be the mother of an almost 1 year old at the time so when I went to get Alex's first birthday picture, I had this sweater on him. I then packed it away to keep for Justin for when He had kids of his own. Well a few weeks ago I found the outfit again and decided to start a new tradition....
there's a blue and white bear that goes with the outfit to and yes I still have it! I just cropped the pictures for this blog...

Justin wearing the sweater for his first birthday in 1988 (gosh he had NO hair)

Alex wearing it for his first birthday in 2002

(Alex has a little bit more hair)

Ethan wearing it for his first birthday in 2008
(Gosh he's got a fro compared to the other two)
I'd say it looks pretty darn good for a 20 year old sweater!!!

Spring has sprung.....and thats not all

It's finally getting nice out and we decided a trip to the park was just the way to celebrate. As usual we called our friends Danielle, Abbey & Amelia to join us. Well as it turned out Danielle was watching her two nephews & Niece and they got to join us...... 8 kids.... two adults..... yes it was an experience!!! I had a glimpse at what Jon & Kate from that show on TLC must feel like (Jon & Kate plus Eight) they have two set of multiples twins and then sextuplets... anyway it's always crazy at their house and this afternoon must have been a milder version of what it must feel like to have that many kids! . BUT the important thing is that they all had fun, nobody got hurt and they are all washable....

From front to back with their ages

Ethan(1) Amelia (1) Alana (2) Abbey (2 1/2) Leah (2 3/4) Drew (4) Ethan (8) and Alex (7)

OK here's a funny side note about the day... we decided Pizza was the only way to go for dinner so while they are all sitting their eating the two oldest boys decided it would be funny to burp or "fart" their ABC's we let this go for a minute and then it was getting out of hand so I got their attention and started lecturing them about how rude it was and that it wasn't funny and then right after that, when it was absolutely silent, one of the babies let one rip that was SO LOUD and SO LONG that we all just burst out laughing.... needless to say it sparked another lovely rendition of the ABC'S ..... ahhhh the joys of childhood!
